I was born on October 3, 1989 as the second child to Filipino's Robert and Norita Padin... My dad was working as a project engineer for an aquaculture facility in Ecuador, South America at this time and together with my mom and older brother Albert we all stayed in a house provided by the company for our family.. So I was born in Ecuador! Which instantly made me an Ecuadorian citizen... But due to some complications my parents did not immediately apply for my dual citizenship which would have made me have both Ecuadorian and Filipino citizenships... So now I am an Ecuadorian leaving in the Philippines, an alien to be exact! But I am a full-blooded Filipino, with no papers to back it up...
And so I spent the first 3 years of my life living abroad! I was actually living the dream of almost all Filipino's today, the dream to be able to go and live anywhere abroad as long as its not the Philippines... I was able to get almost everything I wanted, from toys to my parent's attention and so much more.. But since I was just 3 years old back then I couldn't remember much of this since the only memories I have are my parent's stories and pictures.. .
Today, what exactly is the Filipino Dream? If the American's have the American Dream we Filipino's also have our own... The Filipino Dream! The Filipino Dream is to be able to live abroad.. In search of a brighter future most Filipino's want out of this country, for a couple of good reasons of course... They no longer think that this country is capable of becoming better... When I walk along the streets everyday, I hear ordinary Filipino's talk about how good their lives would be if only they could live the country, settle in the States or Canada...
The sad truth is if the Filipino Dream is to leave the Philippines, thinking that life is better on the other side this country would be left with no one else but the SUPER rich who have nothing to worry about and the beggars in the streets.. Before this country could change, we need to change the Filipino Dream!
The Dream That Started It All
This dream was the reason why I started this blog...
I hope to inspire every single Filipino to dream this dream by talking about the issues and mentalities that we have as a Nation.. And may my life and the lives of other Talented Filipinos inspire you...
I have a dream that one day all Filipinos would learn to dream!
That we all would one day wake up with a dream in our hearts...
A dream that would change the Philippines!
I have a dream that one day this nation would rise up to be the best!
That all the other nations would look at the passion in our hearts...
A dream that would change the Philippines!
I have a dream that one day that we Filipinos would no longer
sit back and just wait for what life has to bring...
But instead wake up to a dream that would change our lives!
That we would look past our current situation and strive to succeed!
I have a dream that one day all Filipinos from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao
Would one day dream this dream...
I have a dream that one day the Philippines
Would achieve what no other nation has achieved!
A Nation composed of 88,570,000 people,
Dreaming One Dream!
